Microsoft Security Essentials
This FREEWARE Microsoft product continuously scans for and removes from the computer
 malicious spyware, malware, viruses, trojan horses and worms as well as 
activating the windows firewall. This product is automatically updated
 and performs similar tasks as other top of the line Internet and computer security programs
 such as McAffee and Norton. It does not yet have parental control features. 
One tremendously positive aspect of this system is that it does not slow the computer's normal operation 
appreciably and runs very inconspicuously in the background.
NOTE:  Other continuously running anti-virus programs must be fully uninstalled before installing Windows
Security Essentials. Works only with Authentic and Activated Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Seagate Disk Wizard
This FREE download from the Seagate Hard Drive company can provide unique Disk Utilities such as formatting,
data back up and, most importantly, Disk/Partition Imaging...the ability to copy an entire disk or partition for future
 rewriting of a disk or partition that has been corrupted or infected.
 NOTE: The program will operate on any brand hard drive as long as a
Seagate or Maxtor drive is either installed or connected (USB, Fire wire, etc) to the computer.
It does its magic within the windows operating system environment. A PDF user guide is provided for download
 on the same webpage. Freeware. 

Tyre Route Planning for Tom Tom and Garmin GPS
Free Trip and Route Planning PC Software that uses Google maps as its basis.
 It will connect  via your PC USB ports with Tom Tom and some Garmin GPS units
It provides an easy method for transferring  waypoints, POIs and route files. Freeware.

MalwareBytes Anti-Malware  
Scans for and removes from the computer malicious spyware, malware and,
 in some cases certain types of viruses, worms, and trojan horses.
Freeware usage for scanning and removing only. Monitor functions come with a purchased product.

Adobe Acrobat Reader
Download and Install in order to read-only and print PDF files. Freeware.

CutePDF
Produce your own PDF files for use between friends, acquaintances, business contacts and, of course, 
GWRRA members. Also a handy way to store documents rather than printing hard copy. Freeware.

Ad-Aware
Anti-Spyware software produced by Lavasoft that helps prevent identity theft, online fraud and other cyber crimes.
The Freeware version only scans on your command. For real time monitoring you must purchase.

 Popup Stopper
Popup Window Stopper program by Panicware which prevents extra unwanted advertising and information windows
 from showing up on your computer screen while you are browsing the web. Freeware version does a fairly good job.
NOTE: It will also stop windows that popup during visits to websites that provide
 important information and services by this means such as banking and your favorite shopping websites.
 You may be required to disable Popup Stopper during these sessions.

 Karen's Directory Printer
Prints the names of the contents (folders and/or files) of a directory to the printer or to a text file on a storage device
 for use in a word processor, spread sheet, data base, etc. Useful when you need a printed or digital listing
 of a folder on your hard drive to send to a friend or family member by snail or email. Freeware.

VideoLan (VLC) Open Source Media Player
VLC media player is a highly portable and Free multimedia player supporting most audio and video formats
 (H.264, OGG, DIVX, XVID, MKV, TS, RM, MPEG-2, MP3, MPEG-4, AAC, AVI, WMV ...and many more) from files, 
physical media (DVDs, VCD, Audio-CD), 
TV capture cards and many network streaming protocols. It can also convert media files, transcode and act as a
 streaming server over unicast or multicast and IPv4 or IPv6.
 It doesn't need any external codec, program or codec pack to work.
NOTE:   As with all such program installations be sure to control what files will automatically 
open and run in the VLC Media Player. You may not want mp3's, for example, to do this if you already have
a favorite program that works well.  Freeware.
