Linda was born on Penny Lane, in Liverpool England but has been in the States since 1973 and has lost most of
her British accent. I, on the other hand have never been able to loose my deep southern draw or twang. In fact
I still have a tendency to use all those old southern folksy sayings, like watch-ya-ma-call-it, do-dad and thing-a-ma-bob.
Linda and I met in Charleston SC in 1980 on a dance floor where we won a dance contest. Funny thing is, neither of us
could then or now really dance. Never the less, that night seemed to set the stage and we married in 1983. We have two
grown daughters and two grandsons (ages 13 and 14) and one grand daughter (age 2).
In August of 2006, Linda met Jean Clark who quickly convinced her I needed a Gold Wing and not a Harley. On Jan 1 2007,
after several invites from Doug and Jean Clark, we finally attended our first Chapter - B gathering and immediately
joined Chapter - B and GWRRA. In Feb 2007 Doug and Jean located a great deal on a 2001 GL 1800 which we purchased and
converted to a trike. In Jan 2009 we were asked by Mike and Bijou White to step up and be Ride Coordinators. In Jan 2010
Jim and June Dutton asked us to step up to an ACD position. We took a good while to think before stepping up. But finally,
in July we stepped up after discovering the key ingredients to having more fun in life is a little touch of involvement
with a great bunch of people.
Since we joined, we have had more fun, met more great people, gone more places, ridden more miles and spent a lot of time
just laughing at our selves (Linda “Jim, It’s alright I’ve saved the helmet!” and Neal “Never mind everyone I’ve found my
keys they were in my pocket”). What a Honey of a Hive we found in Chapter – B.
